Looking for a Scorebuddy alternative
Scorebuddy is a contact center QA platform with scorecards, coaching, and a learning management system, sold on a written quote. It trades as ScorebuddyCX and its site now sits at scorebuddycx.com. Teams look for alternatives when the QA workflow is heavier than they need or the seat math stops working for a small quality team.
If you already run a quality function with two or more analysts, and you want coaching content living in the same tool as the score, Scorebuddy fits that shape better than CallSniper does. It has the longer track record and the larger customer base, which matters when you are the person who has to defend the choice to a director who has never heard of the other vendor.
Both products take a recorded call, put it against a rubric, and hand somebody a number to coach against. The difference sits in what surrounds the number. Scorebuddy grew up around a quality department, with calibration sessions and course content attached to the result. CallSniper was built for an operation that has recordings and one person doing quality alongside a supervisor shift.
Buyers working this shortlist usually run CallSniper and Voxjar too.
Where Scorebuddy is the stronger choice
Scorebuddy says on its own home page that more than 300 organisations in over 25 countries use it, and names Allianz, Autotrader, Capita, CarTrawler, Intercom, Teleflora, and TikTok among them. That is a vendor claim rather than an audited figure, and it is still a longer answer than CallSniper's three pilot customers. A platform with that many deployments behind it has had its edge cases found by somebody else already.
Coaching and learning sit inside the same platform. Scorebuddy publishes a coaching module and a learning management system beside the scorecard, so a failed criterion can lead to assigned course content and a completion record. CallSniper stops at the score, the transcript evidence, and the alert, and hands the rest to whoever runs coaching.
It also publishes more of the category's reference material than we do: a resource library of guides, ebooks, case studies and whitepapers, a free QA scorecard template, and a BPO and outsourcing solution page. A vendor whose material a procurement team has already read is often the easier name to defend in that meeting.
The workflow cuts both ways, which is where we would qualify our own argument. A coaching and learning layer is the reason to buy the platform when somebody owns calibration and runs the sessions on a schedule. The same layer is why a tool sits unopened by month four when nobody does. Settle that one at your own operation first, because it decides most of the question.
What Scorebuddy costs
Scorebuddy prices on a written quote. Its pricing page names three packages, Foundation, Accelerate and Elite, sets out what sits in each, offers a 14 day free trial on all three, and prints no figure anywhere. Every route to a number is a "Request a price" form.
What the page does give you is the shape of the deal. AI Auto Scoring arrives at the Accelerate package with 500 AI scores a month included, and at Elite with 1,000, so scored volume is metered rather than unlimited. Say a program runs 6,000 recorded calls a month with one reviewer and a supervisor picking up the overflow. Whether an included allowance of 500 or 1,000 scores covers the coverage you actually want is arithmetic worth doing before the demo rather than after it.
| Product | What is published |
|---|---|
| Scorebuddy | No figure. Three named packages, a 14 day free trial, and included monthly AI score allowances of 500 on Accelerate and 1,000 on Elite. A quote follows a request form. |
| CallSniper | A platform license covering 30,000 calls a month with per call usage tiers above that, on the pricing calculator. Final terms are confirmed in a proposal. |
One of us prints a number and one does not, and on this row it is not us that comes off worse.
Side by side
CallSniper cells describe what ships today. Scorebuddy cells state what its own pages published on September 16, 2026. Where a cell says a subject is not described, that records a gap in the public material rather than a verdict about the software.
| Area | CallSniper | Scorebuddy |
|---|---|---|
| Primary buyer | Answering services first, then Medicare agencies, property management, and teams running several client programs. | Contact centers and outsourcers with a standing quality function. A BPO and outsourcing solution page sits in its industries section. |
| Scoring model | Scorecards of components and criteria, each criterion carrying its own points, with pass or fail flags and critical failures, configured per client account and applied to every recording uploaded. | Customizable scorecards at every package, with AI Auto Scoring added from the Accelerate package upward. |
| Transcripts | Speaker separated, timestamped, with a confidence value on each scored line. | AI Voice Transcription is listed in the Elite package. Speaker separation and per line confidence are not described on the pages checked. |
| Routing and alerts | Folders and routing rules place calls automatically, with email and Slack alerts on a trigger. | QA Workflows is named at every package, with no routing or alerting scope set out on the pages checked. |
| Reporting | Dashboards by agent and by client account, with CSV and PDF export. | An advanced reporting suite, root cause analysis, and compliance reporting from the Foundation package, with custom BI dashboards from Accelerate. |
| Client account separation | Scoring, review, and reporting organized by client account. | A BPO and outsourcing solution page exists. Whether a report can be scoped and branded per client program is not described, so ask the vendor. |
| Coaching and learning | None. Scores, transcript evidence, and alerts go to whoever runs coaching. | An in-app coaching module from Accelerate, plus a learning management system named on the home page. |
| Intake and integrations | Bulk upload on day one, with a fifteen minute pull from the phone system. Other phone platform connectors are thin, with nothing for Amtelco or Startel today. | Its integrations page lists connectors including Genesys Pure Cloud, Amazon Connect, NICE CXone, Five9, Talkdesk, Aircall, Zendesk, Salesforce, CSV import, and an open API. Amtelco and Startel do not appear. |
| Published pricing | A platform license covering 30,000 calls a month with per call usage tiers above that, on the pricing calculator. | No figure. Three named packages and a request form. |
| Trial or pilot | A demo on a sanitized sample, then a scoped paid pilot on your own recordings. | A 14 day free trial, stated on the pricing page for all three packages. |
| Processing environment | Trinsic's own engine, running in Trinsic's own cloud with customer datasets kept separate, and no public model in the path. | Its security page says the AI model runs inside its own infrastructure, that customer data does not leave that environment and is never used for training, and names Microsoft Azure AI and Amazon Bedrock as providers. |
| Security published | Trinsic typically requires a business associate agreement with each customer. No certification is claimed on this site. | ISO 27001:2022, certified by DNV, and SOC 2 Type 2. No HIPAA attestation and no PCI DSS level appear on the pages checked. |
| Data region | Not published on this site. | Data regions in the EU, US and UK are selectable at the Elite package. |
| Time to a first scored call | A batch of exported recordings scores without a telephony project in front of it. | Not stated. Onboarding is sold in tiers named Silver, Gold and Platinum, one per package. |
Machine scoring holds up on rule based criteria, such as whether the disclosure line was read, and gets shakier on tone and empathy. Every flag on our side carries a timestamp and a confidence value, so a reviewer can open the moment and disagree with it. Two human reviewers have that same argument every week, which is what how calibration works between reviewers covers.
Where CallSniper is limited
Phone platform integration is thin, with no Amtelco or Startel connector today, so a team on one of those platforms exports recordings and uploads them. Three pilot customers is the deployed base, against a vendor claiming more than 300 organisations. Scorebuddy also publishes a certification list and a data region choice, and CallSniper publishes neither, which is the row a procurement team reaches first.
SOC 2 is not complete. If your procurement process needs a certificate on file before a pilot starts, that is a real blocker, and it is better found here than three calls in.
How to run the evaluation
Four things to ask both vendors, in writing, before anyone books a second demo. The ones that are uncomfortable for us are on the list deliberately.
- The integration list. Ask for connectors by name, with what setup takes on your phone platform, and treat a vague answer as a no.
- Production customer count. Ask how many customers run the product today in an operation shaped like yours, then get a reference from one.
- Pricing in writing. A quote from both carrying the seats, the credits, the term, and any implementation fee, so you compare documents instead of conversations.
- A scored sample of your own calls. Send both vendors the same ten recordings from one client program, scored against your own rubric or a call center QA scorecard to start from rather than a vendor template, then set the two reports side by side.
To set up our half, request a review of your own recordings and bring those ten recordings and the scorecard your team already uses.
Four questions about the comparison
How much does Scorebuddy cost?
Scorebuddy quotes rather than publishes. Its pricing page carried no figure on September 16, 2026, only three package names, an included allowance of AI scores on the upper two, a 14 day trial, and a form. Directory listings carry numbers that did not come from Scorebuddy, so ask for a written quote instead and make it carry seats, included AI scores, term, and any onboarding fee.
Is there a Scorebuddy alternative for a small QA team?
That question is about shape rather than brand. A team of one or two reviewers with a pile of recordings and no quality department gets less from a coaching and course layer than an operation with analysts does, and more from scorecards that arrive already written for the vertical. CallSniper was built around the first case.
Does Scorebuddy work for BPOs with several client programs?
Yes on the category. Scorebuddy publishes a BPO and outsourcing solution page in its industries section. What its public pages do not set out is whether a report can be scoped and branded per client program, which is what a BPO needs the day a client asks for their own numbers. Ask both vendors to show one client program's report with that client's branding on it, and quality assurance across client programs covers our side of it.
Can we score calls without connecting our phone system?
Yes, with CallSniper. Bulk upload is the intake path on day one, so a batch of exported recordings scores without a telephony project in front of it. That same fact is the limit, because our connector list is thin and upload stays the path longer than it should.
