Where this comparison stands in September 2026

Thoma Bravo closed its purchase of Verint on November 26, 2025 and merged it with Calabrio, which it already owned. The calabrio.com domain redirects to verint.com. Calabrio Workforce Management and Calabrio QM Intelligence are sold inside the Verint CX Automation Platform. What is left to decide is which of the two product lines you buy.

Worth saying up front: Trinsic builds CallSniper, a call center QA product chasing some of the same budget these two do. Read that as a reason to check the sources rather than the framing, which is why every line below carries the page it came from and the date it was read. Anyone who wants a third name beside these two can find ours, limits attached, in the QA tool roundup. The rest of this page has nothing to do with us.

Checking the central fact takes about ten seconds. Request calabrio.com and the request ends on verint.com/workforce-engagement. The Calabrio ONE page, the quality management page, the workforce management page, the old quote form, and the delivery models document all behave the same way, each finishing on a verint.com address. A company that intends to keep selling two brands does not usually collapse one of them into the other's sitemap.

What the two lines are called today

Verint's own press room carries the completion release, which states the deal closed on November 26, 2025. Mike Lipps, an operating partner at Thoma Bravo, is chairman and interim chief executive. Dave Rhodes continues as Calabrio's chief executive and reports to him. The release describes the two companies as complementary and says nothing at all about what happens to either product catalog.

Product pages are less coy. Verint's workforce engagement page states plainly that the two companies have merged into one, then lists Verint Workforce Management, Verint Workforce Intelligence, Verint Performance Management, and Calabrio Workforce Management in the same solution set. On the quality page, Verint Quality Bot, Calabrio QM Intelligence, and Calabrio Conversation Intelligence share a single headline.

That leaves two products doing the same job under one owner, on the same page. Somebody has to reconcile that eventually, and the buyer signing a three year term is the one exposed while it happens.

Deployment posture and how you actually buy

This is where the two lines still diverge in a way that changes a purchase order, and it has more to do with shape than with features.

Verint sells units of work called bots. Quality Bot, Coaching Bots, TimeFlex Bot, Interaction Wrap-Up Bot, Exact Transcription Bot, Data Insights Bot, Knowledge Automation Bot, Knowledge Creation Bot, and an intelligent virtual assistant are all named on the CX automation page, which says bots deploy in weeks and more can be added as you need them. Underneath sits what the page calls the Verint Open CCaaS Platform, described as an open ecosystem that joins departments, takes in external APIs, and removes data silos.

The former Calabrio line is sold the older way, as suite modules: workforce management, QM Intelligence, conversation intelligence, and recording. Its page leads on measurable business outcomes rather than on units.

That difference is worth something to a buyer with a narrow problem. Say a 180 seat operation needs call scoring and nothing else, with workforce management already handled somewhere it has no intention of replacing. One bot is an easier thing to scope, price, and cancel than a seat in a workforce engagement suite. The reverse holds for an operation replacing scheduling, forecasting, quality, and analytics in one project, where buying nine separate bots is nine separate configurations.

Both sides publish the same deployment promise, which softens the split. Verint's workforce engagement page says bots and functionality can be added without replacing what is already there, whether the estate today runs in the cloud, on a customer's own hardware, or across both. The Calabrio ONE page makes the same promise, saying the software runs on infrastructure you already have and connects to any CCaaS, CRM, or AI model. Neither claim has a supported version list under it.

Calabrio's delivery models document is the one casualty worth flagging. It used to spell out which versions ran in the cloud, which ran on a customer's own hardware, and which mixed the two, and it now redirects to a marketing page that says none of that. An organization that has to keep recordings on its own hardware cannot source an answer from the Calabrio side of the catalog at all today, and has to get one in writing.

What each line publishes

Cells record what was published on the vendor's own pages, or what a server returned, on September 16, 2026. A blank marks a gap in the public material rather than a verdict about the software.

Neither line prints a number anywhere, which is normal at this end of the category and still annoying. The old Calabrio quote form at least implied a quote was the next step. It now lands on a demo request, so the shortest public path to a price on either side runs through a sales call. If you want the wider range before that call, the pricing breakdown collects what the rest of the category publishes, and the same quote only habit turns up a tier down in the MaestroQA and Scorebuddy comparison.

What the merger has not answered

Four things stayed unanswered across every page read, and each of them outranks a feature row.

  • Which quality engine gets development. Verint Quality Bot and Calabrio QM Intelligence do the same job, and no page commits to both surviving.
  • Whose paper a Calabrio renewal lands on, and whether the terms travel unchanged.
  • What migration costs if the answer eventually goes against the line you bought. Recording estates and evaluation form libraries are the expensive part, and neither page mentions either.
  • Security certifications for either line. Nothing was published on the pages checked, and the trust center at trust.verint.com returned a page whose contents render in JavaScript and could not be read. That says nothing about what exists behind it and everything about what a buyer can check without asking.

How to decide

Start with the recordings, because storage location eliminates options faster than anything else. An estate that keeps audio on hardware you own has one sourceable answer today, on the Verint side, and it is not close, since the Calabrio delivery models document stopped resolving. Get the supported version list in writing either way.

Then size the problem before anyone scopes it for you. If quality scoring is the only gap, price a single bot against a suite seat and watch the second quote arrive much larger. Replacing scheduling, forecasting, quality, and analytics together means buying a suite whichever brand ends up on the invoice, so the useful question there is which of the two workforce management products the implementation team has deployed most this year.

Existing customers have a different first call. Somebody holding a Calabrio agreement should spend that call on renewal terms, support escalation paths, and the end of life policy for their current version, since all three move before any feature does.

Everybody should test the scoring rather than reading about it. Both lines advertise scoring up to 100 percent of interactions, which is a coverage claim rather than an accuracy claim, and the two get conflated constantly. Automated scoring holds up on rule based criteria, such as whether a required disclosure was read or a callback number came back digit by digit, and gets shakier on tone and empathy, which is true of every product in this category and of the two reviewers already on your floor. Send the same forty recordings from one program to both, score ten by hand first against a scoring rubric you already trust, then count the flags you disagreed with. That difference is the same one worth measuring when you compare conversation intelligence against call QA, where the coverage claim does the same work.

Last thing, and the one most likely to be skipped: ask both sellers, in writing and on the order form rather than in the demo, which quality product they expect to be selling in 2028.

Common questions after the merger

Is Calabrio still a separate company?

No. Thoma Bravo completed its acquisition of Verint on November 26, 2025 and merged it with Calabrio, which was already in its portfolio. Dave Rhodes continues as Calabrio's chief executive, reporting to the combined company's interim chief executive, and calabrio.com redirects to verint.com.

Which is better for quality management, Verint Quality Bot or Calabrio QM Intelligence?

Public pages will not settle it, since both advertise automated scoring up to 100 percent of interactions and neither publishes an accuracy method or a price. Verint's quality page documents evaluation forms and screen recording where the Calabrio pages do not, though absence from a marketing page is thin evidence. Test both against the same recordings.

What does Calabrio or Verint cost?

Neither publishes a figure. The Verint pricing URL returned a 404 on September 16, 2026 and the old Calabrio quote form now lands on a Verint demo request, so both routes end in a sales conversation. Ask for seats, bot units, storage, term length, and implementation fees as separate lines on any quote.

Should an existing Calabrio customer move to Verint's own products?

Nothing published supports that as a general answer, and a migration of recording estates and evaluation forms is expensive enough to need a reason. Ask your account team which product line carries the development roadmap and what the end of life policy is for the version you run, then decide with those two answers in hand. Retention rules usually set the floor for how long any migration has to preserve old audio.
